Indonesia, a co-development partner of the Korean fighter jet KF-21 'Boramae', has finalized its cost-sharing contribution at 600 billion won. Although Indonesia initially agreed to bear approximately 1.6 trillion won, the Korean government approved a reduction to 600 billion won, roughly one-third of the original amount, alongside a narrowed scope of technology transfer. This agreement was delayed due to technology leakage incidents that occurred during KF-21 development. Going forward, Indonesia will proceed with administrative procedures for payment of remaining contributions. Both countries have agreed to accelerate the KF-21 joint development project and expand cooperation areas beyond fighter jets to include ground and maritime systems.
