A massive flood that hit the Himalayan mountainous region on the Nepal-China border has killed at least 768 people and left more than 3,000 missing. There are concerns about the survival of over 100 people trapped in a hydropower plant tunnel, and the Nepali Army rescue team is working to clear access routes using drills and injecting air. Despite challenges such as fears of further flooding due to heavy rain and a lack of specialized equipment, international support is pouring in. The Korean government's joint rapid response team and Doosan Enerbility were initially scheduled to conduct helicopter searches but were unable to obtain permission from the Nepali authorities due to bad weather. The Nepalese government estimates that approximately $5 billion will be needed for disaster recovery and is requesting assistance from the international community.
