Russia announced that it will mass-produce an electronic warfare system called 'Volna Kupol Garant' capable of disabling Ukraine's Starlink communication network. The system works by sending interference signals directly to Starlink satellites from the ground, blocking communication with Ukrainian terminals. Russia decided to develop this system because it judged that Ukraine's reliance on Starlink had increased after Ukraine attacked Russian logistics centers through drone attacks. Ukraine has successfully participated in attacks inside Russian territory using Starlink and was awarded a medal of freedom by Elon Musk in recognition of its contribution to the drone war.
