A natural dam lake formed by debris flow in the upper reaches of the Himalayan mountains on the Nepal-China border overflowed within two days. Information about another dam collapse was reported from the Chinese Tibetan side, but Nepal has not been able to confirm whether there are additional casualties. This flood is believed to have been caused by climate change in the Himalayan mountains due to global warming, with glaciers and rocks collapsing. As of now, 472 people have been reported dead and 1,535 people are missing in Nepal and China.
