Two men in their 20s and 30s were arrested by police for stealing earrings from the bodies of flood victims in Nepal, where over 2,000 people have died or gone missing due to a massive flood. The two were apprehended after footage of them dragging bodies ashore and removing earrings was circulated online. Nepali police said that this incident could cause great pain to bereaved families and intensified surveillance activities while encouraging reports of looting or inhumane acts during disasters. Police stated that they would not tolerate such behavior and would bring those responsible to justice.
