106-year-old Thai athlete Pranee Surathat appears to be the oldest competitor at the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships. He will compete in discus throw for his first event and is expected to win a gold medal in the 85+ age group. With no competitors over 100 years old, Surathat is unlikely to be disqualified. He is also scheduled to compete in javelin throw two days later. Interest in Surathat is growing both domestically and internationally at Daegu Stadium. Despite his advanced age, Surathat continues to challenge himself around the world, inspiring and moving many people.
