Jang Yun-jung's mother, Ms. Yuk Mo, was sentenced to one year and six months in prison for allegedly defrauding an acquaintance of 3.1 million won by mentioning her famous singer daughter at the Seoul Eastern District Court. The prosecution argued that Ms. Yuk had committed similar fraud in the past and received a prison sentence, but she still committed this crime. They also pointed out that the amount of damage was significant and unrecovered. Ms. Yuk admitted to the charges but pleaded for leniency, saying she used the embezzled funds due to lack of living expenses. The court, noting that Ms. Yuk was not cooperative with the investigation, is scheduled to hand down a sentence on the 10th of next month.
