A police officer currently working in Jeju, Mr. A, has been arrested on suspicion of falsely concluding missing person reports. After receiving a missing person report for Ms. Jang Miran last May, Mr. A falsely claimed that contact had been made after 2 hours and 30 minutes and concluded the case, also deleting the data from the system. Subsequently, he also falsely concluded a missing person report for a man in his 60s. However, both individuals were later found deceased. Mr. A is currently denying the charges, and there are puzzled reactions within the police force regarding his actions. The motive behind Mr. A's crimes remains a mystery.
