The National Tax Service (NTS) investigated the private use of high-priced houses owned by corporations and selected 50 companies, including Sonogroup, as targets for tax audits. These companies are suspected of evading approximately 1.9 trillion won in taxes, with allegations including providing houses to family members or improperly diverting corporate funds. The investigation revealed that "houses for family members" were the most common type, followed by "vacation homes" and "speculative properties." The NTS plans to further analyze suspicious cases of tax evasion through this investigation and pursue tax penalties and criminal prosecution against related corporations.
