A, a former police officer who was in the middle of a divorce lawsuit on Jeju Island, disappeared with a suspected suicide note after killing his wife. Although A had received a restraining order due to conflicts with his wife, the police did not recognize the possibility of a crime when the initial missing person report was filed. After 30 hours, the victim's body was found, and A was apprehended in Guri after 40 hours. The police explained that they initially focused on the suspected suicide report and the witness location in Guri City, and therefore did not recognize the connection to a crime. It is reported that A is currently not denying the crime.
