A major wildfire that broke out in Sancheong, South Gyeongsang Province on the 21st has continued into its second day, resulting in 2 firefighters dead and 2 missing, with 6 injured. The number of displaced residents stands at 263, and the fire has spread across a fire line of 17.5km. Strong winds, dry atmospheric conditions, and rough terrain are making firefighting efforts difficult, and currently ground suppression operations are being intensified using personnel and equipment. The government plans to declare the Sancheong area a special disaster zone.
