Mr. A, a man in his 50s, has been indicted on charges of attempting to murder Mr. B, his wife's lover, with an axe. In February, A went to the store where his wife's lover worked in Gyeongsan City, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and sprayed pepper spray on his face before hitting him several times on the head, causing injuries that required three months of treatment. Although A's initial intention to kill B was unsuccessful, he stole 1.35 million won worth of valuables, including a mobile phone in the store, and fled. During the investigation, A stated, "My family was destroyed because of B." The Daegu High Court Criminal Division 2 dismissed A's appeal and sentenced him to four years in prison, the same as the first trial.
