President Trump has ordered a reduction in the scale of US-South Korea joint military exercises after directing the cancellation of some joint exercises. The US is currently discussing options to partially cancel or have the South Korean military conduct the Field Training Exercise (FTX) alone. This measure follows President Trump's order to reduce the size of US-South Korea joint exercises in an effort to improve relations with Chairman Kim Jong-un. General Bronson, commander of US Forces Korea, discussed follow-up measures on this issue with Minister of National Defense, Kyu-Bak Ahn. In addition, the Eighth Army canceled a media open house for reserve KATUSA mobilization training.
