Three foreign nationals from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines have been arrested and indicted for attempting to smuggle methamphetamine equivalent to 230,000 doses through Jeju International Airport. The suspects were caught trying to smuggle the drug from Cambodia into Jeju, with the methamphetamine disguised as instant coffee mix in stick form. Prosecutors stated that the arrests were made through cooperation between the National Intelligence Service and Jeju Customs, expressing concerns over the increasing cases of drug smuggling exploiting the visa-free entry system.
