The government announced a plan to supply more than 230,000 additional housing units in the metropolitan area. Of these, about 100,000 will be new public housing sites, which are scheduled to be developed in Seoul's Gangseo-gu, Gyeonggi-do's Namyangju, and Gyeonggi-do's Gwaju. It will shorten the time required for public land development to start construction, support the revitalization of private development projects, and provide financial and tax benefits to non-apartment developers. In addition, it plans to expand the supply of multi-generational and multi-family housing, and promote the supply of equity-type public housing for young people. This measure is an effort to achieve the goal of supplying 1.35 million housing units in the metropolitan area by 2030.
