A South Korean national was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the United States for allegedly exceeding his stay on a domestic flight. This incident appears to be part of an expansion of immigration enforcement at airports, a trend that has been growing since the Trump administration. Recently, ICE conducted a large-scale operation against undocumented immigrants in Georgia, arresting 1,226 people. ICE is now including visa overstayers, who were not previously a deportation priority, in its enforcement efforts. In Georgia, there was also an incident last year where Korean workers were arrested at the construction site of a Hyundai-LG battery factory.
