The 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, a USFK air defense unit, recently participated in the joint exercise 'Tennessee Archer 2026' hosted by the US Army Pacific Command in Palau, Western Pacific. During this training, live-fire exercises were conducted using AN/TWQ-1 'Avenger' short-range surface-to-air guided missiles and portable Stinger surface-to-air missiles. Palau is a strategically important location situated on the second island chain for containing China, making it significant for testing the rapid deployment capabilities of USFK air defense units. The US military stated that this training aims to strengthen the defense capabilities of allies and partner countries and contribute to the stability of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
