The Democratic Party of Korea's leadership election has begun in Jeju. Candidate Kim Min-seok emphasized ending internal party conflicts and unity while continuing his offensive targeting candidate Jeong Cheong-rae. On the other hand, candidate Jeong Cheong-rae countered attacks against him with an 'underdog' frame and argued that candidate Kim Min-seok was a 'traitor'. Candidate Song Young-gil stressed harmony with President Lee Jae-myung and promised to complete judicial reform through the impeachment of Chief Justice Woo Suk-jin. The competition between pro-Lee and pro-Jeong factions among the Supreme Council candidates was also fierce. In the afternoon, a joint rally for leadership and Supreme Council candidates will be held in Incheon, followed by the announcement of voting results from Jeju and Incheon party members.
