Democratic Party leadership candidate Kim Min-seok, Jeong Cheong-rae, and Song Young-gil started targeting the Honam region on August 17th ahead of the party convention. The Democratic Party plans to hold a joint campaign rally in Jeju and Incheon on August 8th and announce the results of the voting by rights members. Last week, at the joint campaign rallies in Chungcheong Province and Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongsangnam-do, candidate Jeong Cheong-rae led candidate Kim Min-seok by 0.99%p to take first place. The proportion of rights party members in Jeju and Incheon is about 6.6% of the total party members, which is not large, but it is considered a decisive factor. The party leader election will be conducted through a preferential voting system, while the Supreme Council election will be conducted using a proportional representation method.
