This summer's record-breaking heat wave has significantly reduced the activation rate of major commercial districts in Seoul. The number of diners has plummeted in Yeouido and Gangnam, and restaurants are complaining about declining sales. Due to the heat, people are refraining from company dinners and are increasingly eating delivery food at home. In fact, Baedal Minjok announced that the number of delivery orders increased by about 6% compared to last month. On the other hand, demand for dining out during lunchtime has also decreased, leading to an overall decline in the activation rate of commercial districts in downtown Seoul.
