Indonesian textile company Sritex has gone bankrupt, resulting in approximately 8,400 employees being laid off. President Prabowo Subianto has promised to introduce a new operational approach to allow Sritex workers to return to work. The government plans to attract investment through a heavy equipment rental scheme and reemploy the laid-off workers. However, experts have raised concerns that this plan is not realistic and questioned whether a solution can be found within two weeks. There have also been warnings to ensure that the government's promises do not end up as empty words.
