According to the Tattoo Artist Act scheduled to be implemented in October next year, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has prepared standard guidelines for tattoo procedures. These guidelines include information on post-management methods by tattoo type, management of business space and hygiene environment, use and disposal of single-use instruments, etc. In particular, it is mandatory to use sterilized disposable products for high-risk consumables such as ink cups or gauze. It also states that user identity and health status should be checked before the procedure, consent forms should be obtained, and whether or not to proceed with the procedure after consultation with a medical institution for those with a history of bloodborne infectious diseases.
