Air Force Chief of Staff Lee Young-soo took a test flight aboard South Korea's indigenous supersonic fighter KF-21 'Boramae' to verify its performance and safety. The chief, who previously experienced a premium fighter jet in the United States as an F-15K procurement officer, expressed that Korea's exceptional performance with the KF-21 demonstrates the nation's standing as a world-class aviation power. The KF-21 demonstrated flight capabilities exceeding 1,000 kilometers per hour and validated the precision of its AESA radar and battlefield awareness capabilities. The KF-21 is scheduled for deployment to front-line fighter squadrons beginning in 2026 and is expected to establish Korea as a K-defense powerhouse.
