A man in his 40s, identified as A, beat his intellectually disabled nephew C with a wooden stick and his fists for seven hours over the lack of housework, resulting in the nephew's death. The Busan High Court dismissed A's appeal and upheld the original sentence of 18 years in prison. A's wife, B, was also sentenced to 7 years in prison on charges including complicity in murder. The court determined that the crime was extremely heinous as the victim suffered prolonged abuse while in a severely intellectually disabled state.
