A fire broke out at the Busan Banyan Tree Hotel construction site, resulting in 6 workers dead and 27 injured. The fire occurred at 10:51 a.m. on the 14th and was extinguished after approximately 8 hours. Police have obtained witness statements indicating that the fire started near the 'PT room' on the first floor of Building B, and are investigating the possibility that sparks from piping work ignited flammable interior materials. Additionally, witness accounts that smoke entered through piping holes in the first-floor ground level, causing the fire to spread rapidly, are expected to be confirmed. The Busan Police Agency and Busan Prosecutors' Office have each formed dedicated task forces to investigate the cause of the accident and determine responsibility.
