The People Power Party announced the allocation of standing committees in the latter half of the National Assembly, and some lawmakers expressed strong dissatisfaction with the party leadership. Young-jin Kwon, a second-term lawmaker from Daegu, demanded the principle of allocation to the standing committee from Jeong-deok Won, the floor leader, and protested loudly, even leading to physical clashes. Another second-term lawmaker from Yeongnam also expressed dissatisfaction with the allocation of standing committees to Seung-soo Kim, senior deputy chief of staff for floor operations. The party leadership stated that the authority to allocate standing committees lies with the floor leader and that there would be no changes. Other lawmakers criticized the act of grabbing someone's collar as an action unbecoming a National Assembly member and argued that disciplinary action is inevitable if there is no official apology.
