Im Hyo-jun is a short track speed skating athlete who naturalized from South Korea to China and competed for China in his first international competition at this Asian Games. He advanced to the semi-finals by finishing second in the men's 1,500m quarterfinal, and also qualified through the men's 500m preliminary round and men's 1,000m preliminary round. Im Hyo-jun, who had previously received a competitive suspension in South Korea due to misconduct, returned to competition through ISU World Cup after naturalizing to China and won three gold medals at the World Championships last year. He is expected to target the men's 500m title at this Asian Games.
