Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has prohibited small shops (warung) from selling 3kg LPG gas starting February 1st. This measure was implemented due to unjustifiably high prices for 3kg LPG gas in the market. In the Tasikmalaya region, unregistered warung were selling 3kg LPG gas at prices higher than the official retail price. The government has now mandated that 3kg LPG gas be sold exclusively through Pertamina-registered sales outlets (pangkalan), while sales at warung are banned. As a result, citizens will be able to purchase 3kg LPG gas at official affordable prices.
