He also mentioned that the emphasis on 'the power of culture' by Baekbeom Kim Gu coincided with the spirit of the UNESCO Charter, and pledged that South Korea would contribute to world peace based on its high cultural level. The President met with the Director-General of UNESCO before the opening ceremony to discuss ways to strengthen partnership, and promised a close cooperative relationship between Korea and UNESCO.
