The court has rejected President Yoon Suk-yeol's request for an extension of his detention period. The court stated that prosecutors have no authority to supplement the investigation results conducted by the Corruption Investigation Office. As a result, prosecutors have lost the opportunity for further investigation into President Yoon, and must bring him to trial within the first detention period. Prosecutors are currently reviewing the option of indicting President Yoon while in custody during the first detention period, and the possibility of requesting an extension of the detention period for additional investigation is also being discussed.
