Following the recent stalking murder case in Namyangju, the government has established a joint response system for stalking and dating violence. A task force (TF) consisting of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, and the National Police Agency will be formed to pursue four key tasks: strengthening laws and systems, promoting inter-agency cooperation and preemptive responses, supporting victims, and improving awareness of relationship-based violence. Key measures include introducing a protection order system for stalking victims, strengthening penalties for stalking, legalizing dating violence, linking electronic ankle bracelet systems, and providing private security services to high-risk victims. Through these efforts, the government aims to prevent crimes caused by stalking and dating violence and protect victims.
