A, a 19-year-old resident of Gangwon Province, illegally used a vehicle with an open door four times over a month from September to October last year and drove long distances. A drove up to 130km from Yanggu to Sokcho without a driver's license and returned the vehicle to its original location. The Chuncheon District Court sentenced A to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, on charges of illegal use of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving. The court considered the number of offenses and distance to be significant but took into account that the victims did not wish to be punished because A was a minor.
