KOMPAS.com - Rockstar Games ensures that the physical version of the Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) game purchased during the pre-order period will not contain a (disc).
Instead, gamers will only receive a download code that can be redeemed to get the game digitally.
This information was announced through the official blog of Rockstar Games, which reminded about the pre-order date of GTA 6 falling on today, Thursday (25/6/2026).
"The physical version of Grand Theft Auto VI, which contains a download code inside the box, will be available to users starting November 12, 2026 to support the game's pre-load process," writes Rockstar Games.
This means consumers can still buy GTA 6 in physical box form at retail stores. However, the contents of the box are only an activation code to download the game to the console.
During the pre-load period, buyers of this physical edition can download the game first, but cannot yet play it.
Only on November 19, 2026 can gamers play GTA 6 directly without having to wait for the download.

There is no certainty whether GTA 6 will come in a physical version containing a disc in the future or not. It is also unclear what reason Rockstar did not provide a disc in the physical box.
However, according to several rumors circulating, this disc-free strategy is reportedly being implemented by them to prevent content (leak) of the game ahead of launch.
This is understandable because logically, the physical version of the game must be distributed to several retailers before the release date so it can be purchased and played on the intended date.
This game content leak prevention measure can also be said to make quite sense, given that several GTA 6 contents have leaked in recent years.
By only distributing download codes, Rockstar can control access to the game until close to the launch day, as summarized by KompasTekno from Kotaku.
Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
In Indonesia, this game is priced starting from Rp 1,190,000 for the Standard Edition. The Ultimate Edition is priced at Rp 1,490,000, which includes various in-game bonuses and one month of GTA Plus subscription.
