Jakarta -
President of the United States (US) Donald Trump is angry and launched an attack on Iran. This anger was triggered by Trump's suspicion that Iran had violated the ceasefire agreement in the Strait of Hormuz.
As you know, the US and Iran are said to have signed a ceasefire agreement and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. The strait is one of the main global oil trading routes.
The US Central Command said its aircraft had been flown to attack Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar sites. The attacks were carried out on Thursday (6/25) local time.
"Iran's unreasonable aggression against commercial shipping by Iranian forces clearly violated the ceasefire. Furthermore, Iran's dangerous behavior has damaged freedom of navigation because trade through vital international trade corridors," said the US Central Command quoted from CNBC, Saturday (6/27/2026).
Peace Agreement
In fact, just a week ago, Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at making peace and ending the war between the two countries.
Meanwhile, when asked by a reporter at the White House about the consequences for Iran for violating the ceasefire, Trump gave an implicit answer that there would be major consequences for Iran.
"You will know," said Trump.
On the other hand, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran denied that its country attacked first and violated the agreement. He said that the US had violated the ceasefire and deliberately accused Iran of violating it.
"Following the violation of the ceasefire by the Zionist regime in southern Lebanon, a few hours ago, the US regime which violated the agreement, as usual, violated its commitment and, with various pretexts, attacked the coast of the Islamic Republic of Iran with airstrikes because of ships passing through illegal routes in the Strait of Hormuz," he said.
