(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Choi Hyun-seok = The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 25th that it has made a regulatory announcement to amend the 'Regulations on Items and Grades of In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices' to establish new items for self-test in vitro diagnostic medical devices for sexually transmitted diseases, narcotics, and influenza.
There has been social demand to expand the types of self-test in vitro diagnostic medical devices so that citizens can easily check for infections and other illnesses.
In response, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has been preparing an amendment since last September to allow approval of self-test in vitro diagnostic medical devices in three areas: sexually transmitted diseases, narcotics, and influenza, in consultation with the medical community, consumer groups, industry, and related associations.
If you buy a drug self-test kit, will it contact the police station? 🤔
