When living in Indonesia, you must have heard the term THR(Tunjangan Hari Raya). Simply put, it is the concept of a holiday bonus in Indonesia!
Especially before Lebaran (Eid al-Fitr), which is celebrated after Ramadan ends, this bonus is given to all workers.

What is THR?
THR is a religious holiday bonus stipulated by the Indonesian government, and all types of workers can receive it. This includes permanent employees, contract workers, and non-regular workers. Even domestic helpers, drivers, babysitters, and other household workers must be paid.
THR Payment Criteria
✔Worked for 12 months or more: The amount paid is the same as the basic monthly salary.
✔Worked for less than 12 months: Calculated proportionally to the number of working months, (salary ÷ 12 × number of working months)
✔Payment Deadline: At least 7 days before the start of the religious holiday (Failure to comply will result in fines! Indonesian Labor Law)
THR Payment Deadline for 2025
The Ramadan period in 2025 is from February 28th to March 30th, and the official Lebaran holiday is from March 31st to April 1st.
Therefore, THR must be paid by March 24th at the latest! Be careful as there may be legal penalties if the deadline is missed.
