The Democratic Party of Korea submitted a bill to amend the Criminal Procedure Act, focusing on abolishing the supplementary investigative power, to the Legislation and Judiciary Committee for prosecutorial reform. The People Power Party is boycotting in protest against the Democratic Party's unilateral composition of the committee and is strongly opposing the handling of this bill as well. The Democratic Party plans to process the bill before the full party convention on August 17th and intends to have the subcommittee review not only the bill introduced by lawmakers such as Yong-min Kim but also a separate amendment bill that has been internally discussed. The People Power Party continues to criticize the Democratic Party's unilateral operation of the standing committee and is continuing its protest. The Legislation and Judiciary Committee announced that it will start subcommittee proceedings from the 10th.
