The Galaxy S26 Ultra's Privacy Display works like this
There have long been rumors that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a new innovative function called Privacy Display to block the gaze of those around you. Now, there is additional evidence that this feature will be applied to Samsung's next flagship device.
According to Android Authority, which first discovered it, traces of code related to the Privacy Display have existed in internal versions of One UI 8.5 for some time. Subsequently, Ach also discovered a UI toggle for this function. And now another puzzle piece has emerged: the Tips app.
In Samsung's updated Tips app, which guides users on how to use new features, there was a hidden page describing the new feature. To confirm this, we spoofed the app with a device disguised as a Galaxy S26 Ultra and were able to view the page.
The page included an animation showing that the Privacy Display will be located in the 'Display' menu of the Settings app. It also adds a toggle to turn this function on and off in Quick Settings. Currently, it can also be set to activate automatically depending on the running app or new notifications.
More interestingly, Samsung also provided an animation showing how this feature actually works. When viewed from the front of the phone, the screen content appears normal, but when viewed from the top, bottom, left, or right sides, the display darkens. This makes it difficult for people around you to steal sensitive information such as bank app data or confidential documents.
If there was any doubt before, we can now be sure. The Privacy Display is expected to debut on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
