# Summary
Language learning app Duolingo appears to have used the iPhone's Live Activities feature to display ads on the lock screen and Dynamic Island, which violates Apple's design guidelines.
Do not use Live Activities to display advertisements or promotions. Live Activities are intended to provide ongoing information about in-progress events and tasks, so it is important to only display information related to those events and tasks.
According to a post on Reddit, the Duolingo app displayed ads for its paid membership service, 'Super Duo'.
Apps that violate Apple's interface guidelines can be removed from the App Store.
However, MacRumors was unable to reproduce the Live Activities ads, and it is possible that Duolingo took down the ads after receiving user complaints.
