Counterpoint Research survey... SK Hynix is $17.1 billion
Samsung Electronics regained the No. 1 market share in the global DRAM market in the fourth quarter of last year.
According to market research firm Counterpoint Research on the 8th, Samsung Electronics' memory semiconductor sales in the fourth quarter of last year increased by 34% compared to the previous quarter to $25.9 billion.
DRAM sales were $19.2 billion and NAND flash sales were $6.7 billion. It is estimated that about 40% of Samsung Electronics' total sales came from memory semiconductors.
During the same period, SK Hynix's total memory sales recorded $22.4 billion. DRAM was $17.1 billion and NAND was $5.3 billion.
As a result, Samsung Electronics regained the No. 1 market share in the DRAM market that it had lost to SK Hynix after one year.
Samsung Electronics had maintained the No. 1 position in the DRAM market for about 30 years until the fourth quarter of 2024, but it gave up the No. 1 spot to SK Hynix for the first time in the first quarter of 2025.
