Anthropic has opened up Claude Cowork, an AI assistant that handles simple tasks on a PC, to Pro subscribers for $20 a month.
Prior to the expansion, Cowork was only available to Max subscribers who paid $100 or more per month, with higher inference model usage limits and early access to experimental features.
Now available at a lower price, Anthropic notes that Pro users "may reach their usage limits sooner" compared to the Max tier.
Like other AI agents, Claude Cowork's feature is its ability to work autonomously. If you use the macOS Claude app and a Pro subscription, you can instruct Claude Cowork to perform tasks locally on your computer, such as writing documents based on saved files or organizing folders.
Evolved from Claude Code, another AI coding agent from the same company, it can be integrated with other apps and web services using connectors and a Claude Chrome plugin. [The rest of the content is omitted]
