Check out Onkyo's new AV receiver lineup and home theater separates products.
Onkyo surprised the audience at CES 2026 by announcing a return to the AV separates market along with a completely renewed AV receiver lineup.
Although Onkyo changed ownership several times over the past few years, this year at CES it demonstrated that it has a strong vision for the future. Onkyo surprised everyone, including us, by unveiling numerous new products including the entire AV receiver (AVR) lineup as well as a new home theater preamp processor and multichannel home theater power amplifiers in two models.
The RZ series receiver has undergone a dramatic visual change with a large high-resolution display. This display simplifies setup and helps you see useful information at a glance, including surround sound formats, room correction, and input selection. The receiver lineup includes two new models from the entry-level NR line and four new models from the high-end RZ line.
All models come standard with Dirac Live room correction at no additional cost, and you can upgrade to Dirac Bass Control or Dirac ART (Active Room Treatment) by purchasing a license from Dirac.
All models in the RZ series are equipped with multiple independently controlled subwoofer outputs to allow fine control of in-room bass performance. Certain models support up to 6 subwoofer outputs.
Select RZ series receivers include AURO-3D decoding, and all models include Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, and DTS:X decoding. All RZ series models have received IMAX Enhanced certification, feature Bluetooth with Oracast support, and have Works with Sonos certification so you can use them as individual Sonos zones by adding a Sonos Port.

Onkyo's Entry-Level NR Series
The entry-level NR (Network Receiver) line's two new models include the TX-NR6200 7-channel receiver and the TX-NR7200 9-channel receiver. Both models include Dirac Live room correction and output 100 watts per channel.
These models feature a more understated style but provide native Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding and offer separate height channel speaker outputs and virtualization options. The NR6200 supports 7.1 or 5.1.2 channel speaker configuration, and the NR7200 is capable of 7.1, 5.1.4, or 7.1.2 channel output. In smaller systems, you can optionally use the built-in amplifier for second zone output.
Upgrading to the RZ Series
All models in the RZ series feature new styling and a large front display and have received THX Select 2 certification. This includes the TX-RZ31 (9-channel, 100 watts per channel), the TX-RZ51 (9-channel, 120 watts per channel), the TX-RZ61 (11-channel, 135 watts per channel), and the TX-RZ71 (11-channel, 145 watts per channel). All models have obtained IMAX Enhanced certification.
The poster displayed at CES 2026 shows the full lineup of Onkyo receivers and separate products that will be released in the coming months. Please note that specifications are subject to change.
While much of the information gathered at CES was preliminary, it was confirmed that certain models will have up to six independent subwoofer outputs. Combined with Dirac Active Room Treatment, this independent subwoofer control allows customers to adjust all subwoofers in the system to work together, creating deep and uniform low-frequency response anywhere in the room. Specific details on which models will have six subwoofer outputs are not available, but it was confirmed that the TX-RZ51 model will have four independent subwoofer outputs.
Return of Separate Products
In another exciting move, Onkyo has revived its home theater separate product line with a new preamp processor and two new multi-channel power amplifiers. These new separate products are very appealing for users who want to build larger home theater systems or who want to completely separate processing and AV switching functions from the power amplifier.
The PR-RZ91 features 15-channel audio processing, THX Dominus certification, and the ability to decode all formats of Dolby, DTS, and Auro-3D. While not yet confirmed, this model is also believed to have six independent subwoofer outputs. The PA-RZ04 (4-channel) and PA-RZ11 (11-channel) power amplifiers each deliver 150 watts per channel output and are THX Select2 certified.
Pricing and release dates have not yet been announced, but there are rumors that the first models will be released in late 2026 or early 2027. Stay tuned for more detailed information to be released over the next few months.
