The open-source password manager app Bitwarden has announced a price increase for its premium tier, which adds some extra features.
The existing yearly price of $10 is going up to $19.80.
Free features will remain the same, it says.
While the new higher price is still cheaper than competitors (like 1Password and Proton Pass),
most of the added features don't seem worth the increased cost to users,
and the Reddit announcement post has largely received negative feedback.
(Comments include things like "I thought I was donating, but I can't justify paying this new price" and "I'm switching to self-hosted Vaultwarden.")
