The global artificial intelligence (AI) boom is spreading beyond the memory market to the graphics card (GPU) market, and domestic and foreign manufacturers and distributors are facing serious management pressure.
According to industry sources on the 27th, ZOTAC Korea, the Korean subsidiary of graphics card manufacturer ZOTAC, said through a notice on its shopping mall, "The situation is so serious that we have to worry about the existence of manufacturers and distributors," adding, "Due to unreasonable supply price increases, even RTX 5090, as well as RTX 5060 lineup, which is an entry-level model, the increase rate is beyond imagination."
This situation is worsening further as NVIDIA and AMD have officially reduced GPU supply due to memory shortage.
The industry expects that the full-fledged price increase of graphics cards will begin next week. According to rumors spreading in online communities, RTX 5060 8GB is expected to be sold for about 750,000 won, RTX 5060 Ti 8GB for 900,000 won, RTX 5070 12GB for 1.3 million won, RTX 5070 Ti 16GB for 1.8 million won, and RTX 5080 16GB for over 2.2 million won.
