Apple has added a battery charge limit setting feature in the macOS Tahoe 26.4 beta.
The charge limit is a separate setting from the existing 'Optimized Battery Charging' feature and can prevent your Mac from charging to 100%.
While the existing Optimized Battery Charging feature learns your charging patterns and delays full charging until you actually need it, it still regularly charged to 100%.
The new feature allows you to choose to force a limit at 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, or 100%.
