Sony Returns to PlayStation Exclusivity and Stops Single-Player PC Ports, New Report Says
Live service games are still expected to be ported.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, Sony will no longer port its first-party single-player games to PC and other platforms.
Following claims that hardware manufacturer Sony would step back from its multi-platform strategy, Jason Schreier's report now states that single-player titles will remain exclusive to PlayStation systems like the PS5. Live service titles such as Marathon or Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will still be released on other platforms, but for now, that's all.
Sources contacted by Bloomberg stated that Ghost of Yotei and Saros, releasing next month, will remain PS5 exclusives.
The sources cautioned that "due to the unpredictable nature of the video game industry, the situation could change in the future, and Sony's plans are constantly evolving." However, they added that "in recent weeks, PlayStation has abandoned its plans to bring Ghost of Yotei and other internally developed games to PC."
One reason for this shift is that a "faction" within PlayStation expressed concerns that "releasing games on PC could risk damaging the console brand and negatively impact sales of the PlayStation 5 and its successors." The fact that past PC ports haven't sold particularly well is also cited as a factor.
Another factor mentioned in the report is that Microsoft's next-generation Xbox consoles are becoming closer to PCs, allowing access to multiple storefronts. This theoretically puts Xbox in a position where it could play PlayStation-published games.
This entire report follows online claims and hints that PlayStation could scale back its PC publishing business. Schreier previously mentioned hearing that Sony was "stepping back from releasing exclusive console content like traditional single-player games on PC."
Add "Only On Ps" tagline to the Marvel Wolverine introduction page on the Ps Store
