1080p at 30fps – Valve Finally Details Steam Machine's Verified Program

Summary.
Like the Steam Deck, the Steam Machine Verified program is expected to be a major selling point for the Steam Machine, allowing users to immediately confirm whether a game runs well on the device.
While the existence of the program has been known since Valve announced the Steam Machine last November, the company recently detailed its actual verification criteria at GDC 2026.
The biggest difference between the Steam Machine Verified program and the Steam Deck Verified program is that games must run at 1080p resolution and 30fps to be Steam Machine Verified. Except for this, games that have already earned Steam Deck Verified status will automatically receive Steam Machine Verified status as well. As with the Steam Deck, a game must be playable 100% with a controller to receive a green check mark.
Valve also announced at the presentation that it is improving anti-cheat support for SteamOS. Developers will be able to choose to bring their anti-cheat programs to SteamOS, which will allow more competitive games to run on Steam Machines, Steam Decks, or other hardware with SteamOS installed.
