RGB Triple Laser and 6,000 ANSI Lumens: Overwhelmed at First Sight!
The HiSense XR10 is not lacking in brightness and color intensity.
Even demanding content with sharp transitions between bright and dark areas is handled excellently by the XR10. We were unable to detect any fine gray shimmer (Grauschleier) in the black areas with the naked eye.
Another high-contrast image in which the numerous highlights are truly optimally implemented in the HiSense XR10.
On paper, this all sounds fantastic. But can a 4K RGB triple laser projector actually deliver on these quality promises on screen? Our opinion is "yes"! To add, the projection conditions for the HiSense XR10 were not necessarily ideal.
The room was only slightly darkened with sufficient ambient light remaining, and the projection surface was a white wall above the bathroom (a detail that is not contextually important but we found very amusing). Even under these unfavorable conditions, the HiSense XR10 immediately captivated us. The high peak luminance across the entire projection surface, vibrant colors, and the absence of rainbow effects and "laser speckle" made the demo footage a pure delight to watch. Even in high-contrast content with many dark areas, there was no visible "gray shimmer" (Grauschleier) in the dark areas.
HiSense XR10: Whisper Quiet Thanks to Water Cooling
This is just a subjective assessment, but all colleagues we spoke to about the HiSense XR10 were equally enthusiastic. Stepping away from the image quality evaluation for a moment, let's consider what other differentiating factors the HiSense XR10 has compared to its competitors. First and foremost, we need to talk about the water cooling system. The projector was not in eco mode and the demo footage was very demanding.
Nevertheless, it was surprising that almost no noise could be heard from the HiSense XR10. Even if you listened closely, there was only a very faint humming sound. The combination of overwhelming image performance with minimal noise generation made the HiSense XR10 even more appealing to us.
The left side shows the projection screen of the HiSense C3 4K laser projector, and the right side shows the HiSense XR10 4K RGB triple laser projector. The difference is very clear even in the images. (Both images are approximately 3 meters wide).
Unfortunately, we were unable to form a proper impression of the built-in sound system tuned by French audio experts Devialet. However, given this level of image quality (which would certainly be even better with a suitable screen), buyers will undoubtedly consider a high-quality external audio solution. In any case, the HiSense XR10 has a built-in sound system and can transmit Dolby audio tracks, including Dolby Atmos, to a sound system or soundbar via HDMI-eARC.

The remote control of the Hisense XR10 gives a premium feel. The chassis is made of metal and has a pleasant weight.
Hisense has worked hard to match the overall package configuration. This is also why the Hisense XR10 is not as light as competing products at 14kg. (It reminds one of an old microwave oven) The chassis houses numerous technologies. To ensure safe and convenient transport of the projector, Hisense provides a very high-quality carrying case. To complete the user experience, Hisense also includes a sleek metal remote control for comfortable operation of the Vidaa operating system.
Hisense XR10 aims for the premium segment
Finally, there is the question of price. How much should the Hisense XR10 cost, packed with the latest projection technology, extremely quiet thanks to water cooling, and easy to operate? Hisense's answer is 4,999 euros (recommended retail price). With a price of around 5,000 euros, this Chinese manufacturer sets itself apart somewhat from its competitors, but it also offers more in many ways.
We strongly suspect that Hisense wants to establish itself in the premium home cinema segment with this device, just like with the PX3-PRO UST 4K laser projector. This impression is further reinforced by the price difference compared to Hisense's other laser projectors. We were very happy to experience this visual highlight and hope to meet the Hisense XR10 again in our "test lab" someday.
