Naver is revising part of its SmartStore terms of use to specify that the company will assume legal responsibility in case of problems caused by the company's fault, in order to protect seller rights and create a safe trading environment.
Naver explained on the 30th through a notice on the SmartStore Seller Center that "the revised terms will clearly reflect that the company will assume legal responsibility in cases where accidents occur due to the company's responsibility, separate from the seller's responsibility for managing personal information."
This is a measure reflecting the Fair Trade Commission's review of terms and conditions conducted on open market operators on the 28th. At that time, the FTC reviewed terms of use that exempted business operators from liability for personal information damage and ordered corrections to 11 types of unfair contract clauses in four areas.
