Google Pixel 11 Could Be Next Victim of RAM Shortage Crisis

The base model Google Pixel 11 may start with 8GB RAM, while the Pro models are said to adopt a 12GB RAM standard configuration.

Google's next-generation Pixel smartphone lineup could have lower specifications than the current Google Pixel 10 series due to ongoing RAM supply shortage issues. According to Android Headlines, the leaked specs shared by MysticLeaks contain the possibility that the base model Google Pixel 11 may start with 8GB RAM instead of the current 12GB.

Also according to MysticLeaks, Google may add 12GB RAM models, lower than the existing 16GB, for the Google Pixel 11 Pro, Google Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Of course, each model will still offer 16GB configurations, but if lower-spec models are added, the possibility of a price increase for the 16GB version has been raised.

However, there are some positive aspects. According to leaked information, the Pro models may feature improved camera performance and a brighter display.

The RAM supply shortage is affecting other smartphone manufacturers as well. Multiple companies including Samsung are reviewing price increases, and the affected product categories are not limited to smartphones. From portable gaming devices to Raspberry Pi Foundation's Raspberry Pi, various electronic devices are facing pressure from price increases and specification adjustments.
